Standen is an Arts and Crafts family home with Morris and Co interiors, and is near to Ashdown Forest and the Medway valley.

A testimony to the movement, the house contains lush Morris and Co wall coverings surrounding a mixture of contemporary ceramics and furniture, alongside pictures from this period. The property was built as a family home by the influential architect Phillip Webb and retains a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Details of Webb's designs can be found everywhere from the fireplaces to the original electric light fittings.

Situated in an informal hillside garden there are peaceful woodland walks around the house, and is a National Trust property.
