The Priest House, West Hoathy
An early fifteenth century timber framed hall-house which stands in the scenic surroundings of a traditional cottage gardens on the edge of Ashdown Forest.
The grounds have a formal herb garden containing over 170 culinary, medicinal and folklore herbs.
Thought to have been built for the Priory of St Pancras in Lewes, it was modernised in Elizabethan times into a more substantial Yeoman's dwelling.
Now a museum it contains a collection of domestic country furniture, kitchen equipment, needlework and household items.

Tuesday - Saturday (plus Mondays during August and Bank Holidays), 10.30am - 5.30pm
Sundays, 12 noon - 5.30pm
