Mid Sussex

This small corner of Sussex, less than one hour from London, remains relatively undiscovered.

Stretching from the South Downs to the Surrey border, is some of the prettiest countryside in the South East. Roaming through tranquil lanes, you'll come across historic houses, famous gardens, as well as captivating villages.

Wakehurst PlaceThe famous Great Gardens of Sussex - Wakehurst Place, Nymans, High Beeches, Borde Hill, and nearby Leonardslee - are renowned for their botanical displays. Edwardian and Victorian plant explorers shared their discoveries, creating remarkable displays and rare plant collections.

Saint Hill ManorMid Sussex is blessed with an unusual heritage: Standen, the Arts and Crafts house with William Morris' textiles; Saint Hill Manor and its 100-foot long Monkey Mural; Sackville College, a Jacobean Almshouse; the 15th century timber-framed Priest House; the Bluebell Railway steaming through the countryside; and on top of the South Downs, the unique pair of Jack and Jill windmills.
